Delhi’s oldest literary and cultural festival Spring Fever 2016 hosted by Penguin Random House – celebrates its eighth year this March. The six-day festival boasts an outstanding selection of events with a lineup of highly respected and popular speakers.
During the day, they run an open-air library featuring a wide range of our titles and, in the evenings, the same space is transformed into a hub of literary bustle, featuring key authors, previews of forthcoming and latest books, and panel discussions around interesting and relevant topics, usually followed by musical performances by popular artistes.
For Spring Fever 2016, to be held at the Amphitheatre, India Habitat Center, from 15-20 March, they have an impressive list of guest authors: Sunil Khilnani, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Twinkle Khanna, Ramachandra Guha, Husain Haqqani, Emraan Hashmi, Sonali Bendre Behl, Shashi Tharoor, Anand Kumar, Hindol Sengupta, Neeraj Kumar, Gulzar, and Sunil Sethi.
The following is the schedule of the Spring Fever 2016 :
1. Tuesday 15th March – 7pm – The Challenge of Contemporary History — Ramachandra Guha previews his highly anticipated new work Democrats and Dissenters.
2. Wednesday 16th March – 7pm – Incarnations — Sunil Khilnani discusses 50 influential Indians who have shaped our history.
3. Thursday 17th March – 7pm – Pakistan is in the Eye of the Beholder — Husain Haqqani, Shashi Tharoor, T.C.A Raghavan, Neeraj Kumar and Hindol Sengupta in conversation.
4. Friday 18th March – 7pm – What Can I Give? — Srijan Pal Singh on the legacy and teachings of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and Anand Kumar on mentoring the Super 30.
5. Saturday 19th March – 5pm – Nawaznama — Nawazuddin Siddiqui talks about cinema, his journey, and life in his forthcoming book.
7pm – The Great Indian Diet — Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Payal Gidwani Tiwari and Luke Coutinho talk about what it takes to stay fit and healthy.
6. Sunday 20th March – 12pm – Mrs Funnybones — Meet Twinkle Khanna as she signs copies of her blockbuster book.
6pm – A Piece of My Heart — Emraan Hashmi and Sonali Bendre Behl talk about parenting for the new generation.
7:30pm – Kitaabein — Gulzar on books, literature and poetry: in conversation with Sunil Sethi.
