Bharat Ratna awardee and world-renowned musician, Pandit Ravi Shankar has left an eternal place in our hearts with the charm of his entrancing symphonies. Born in 1920 to a Bengali Brahmin family in Benaras, Pandit Ravi Shankar was a gem of Indian Classical Music and was rightly called “the godfather of world music”. Smaran 2020 is a tribute to the life and music of the unforgettable Sitar maestro on his 100th birth anniversary.

What To Expect?

Smaran – a music concert organised by SRF Foundation & SPIC MACAY – is a homage to the legendary musician and composer of Hindustani classical music. A two-day musical concert, Smaran promises to be a mesmerizing experience, filled with soulful tunes played by several renowned Indian Classical musicians.

Virtuosos of Hindustani Classical music performing at the event are Hari Prasad Chaurasia (Flute), Zakir Hussain (Tabla), Begum Parween Sultana (Hindustani Vocal), Vishwamohan Bhatt (Mohan Veena), Bickram Ghosh (Tabla), Ashwini Bhide Deshpande (Hindustani Vocal), Tarun Bhattacharya (Santoor), Partho Sarathy (Sarod), Shubhendra Rao (Sitar), and Sanjeev and Ashwini Shankar (Shehnai).

Accompanied by Ram Kumar Mishra, Akram Khan and Vinod Lele on Tabla and Vinay Mishra on Harmonium.
