Women of India have defied challenges and stood out the crowd all over again. The first three female fighter pilots of Indian Air Force have bagged the Nari Shakti Purashkar from President Ram Nath Kovind this year for their commendable contribution in the experimental fighter stream, as part of the IAF fighter squadron into which they were inducted.
One of them, Mohana Jitarwal, was born in Agra and had her schooling from Air Force School, New Delhi. The second scout, Bhawana Kanth hails from Bihar and had completed her BE in Medical Electronics from Bangalore. Bhawana has been posted in Ambala, Haryana to No. 3 Squadron.
The third gem, Avani Chaturvedi, had completed her training in Hyderabad Air Force Academy. She has been posted to No. 23 Squadron in Rajasthan. In 2018, she was also promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant.
Kudos to the real-life heroines! These women have been instrumental in proving that success isn’t gender-specific. Anybody can cross milestones and touch the pinnacle by determination and hard work.
