Know It All In 30 Seconds
During the widening of the Gurgaon-Faridabad highway in 2012 from two to four lanes, all the street lights on the stretch were knocked down. Since then, the road has been dark at night. Due to the lack of illumination, several accidents have already taken place in the area.
The Ghata crossing on the GGN-Faridabad highway has been marked as one of the 21 black spots of the capital, recording more than 10 fatalities in the last 3 years. But now it’s finally the time to say goodbye to such woes. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram ( MCG) has installed 734 LED street lights on the Gurgaon zone of the stretch.
The installation process had started in August last year and attained completion a week back. The entire cost of the installation was ₹1.5 crores.
The application for power connection has already been submitted. The nod from Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Haryana’s power distribution company, is awaited.
