Gold Digged Out! Cleaner Reveals Gold Worth ₹34 Lakhs In IGI Airport Washroom

A hinky polythene-wrapped bag entwined with multiple layers of tapes utterly startled the cleaner on duty in toilet no. 26 of IGI Airport on June 20, 2019. Smelling something fishy, he alerted the Customs officers of the airport right away.

After sifting through the contents of the bag, the bomb squad couldn’t detect any explosives, but bars of gold worth a whacking 34 lakhs!

The CCTV footage has been scanned thoroughly, trying to trace out the possessor of this gold-loaded sack. Authorities have informed that similar incidents had happened before as well, where the carriers had left behind suspicious belongings, failing to pass them through security checks.

The airport authorities are still to decide on the destiny of this bumper treasure. The investigation is up and on at full throttle.
