Over the years many conflicts have risen revolving the point that public places in the country are not disabled-friendly! But not anymore! The Union Ministry has taken a massive step towards making our very own Delhi a disabled-friendly city and we’re totes loving the idea!
Recently the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment announced that all government and private offices, cinema theatres, parks, ATMs, police stations and more public spaces will have the proper infrastructure to support people with disabilities.
The Centre has ordered the Delhi Government to make all existing buildings and spaces disabled-friendly within the next five years.
The initiative has been taken under the Accessible India Campaign. the idea of the campaign is to build a society with equal opportunities for the growth and development of the differently-abled.
Isn’t this just great news!?
We’re really impressed by this move and are now waiting for the day when the city actually becomes disabled-friendly!
