The Delhi Government over the course of the past few years has built more than 7,000 community toilets in various parts of the city. In fact, that number is still growing as the Government has made a bid to make Delhi an open Defecation Free State!
30 Second Window:
- The biggest problem with community toilets is the bad condition in which they are run. In an effort to rectify that mistake the government plans to enforce strict rules to keep the toilets clean.
- In order to do so, the government will also add a few changes. There will be one seat for males & females each for odd hours along with paintings on the wall to improve the overall aesthetics of the complex from outside.
- Descriptive signage at suitable positions with strict monitoring by surprise inspection teams & water will make this project a perfect solution to end open defecation in Delhi.
- That you help the Delhi Government in their drive against uncleanliness in community toilets!
And in the meanwhile, keep a lookout for community toilets & inform people regarding the same if they have to defecate!
