The signboard showing the direction toward Akbar Road was recently defaced using a poster. Posted over the signboard on Wednesday, the poster said Maharana Pratap Marg by the hooligans.

And while the police don’t know who the culprits were, NDMC was quick to respond. In fact, an official was quoted saying that the use of the poster is a law & order issue, therefore directly coming under the ambit of the Delhi Police. And it was officials from the Delhi Police who finally took down the poster, bringing things to an end.

However, this isn’t the first time Akbar Road has been defaced. Moreover, a few years back, a government official had proposed the name of the ‘marg’ be changed to Maharana Pratap Marg.
