108 Yr Old Monorail At National Rail Museum Comes Back To Life!

All the visitors to National Rail Museum in Chanakyapuri can now enjoy a ride on India’s oldest monorail. Once owned and used by the Maharaja of Patiala, Bhupinder Singh – visitors can now enjoy a 400-meter long ride.

The 10 seater monorail will make 4 trips in a day, each costing a INR 500 per head. It took railway officials three months to revive the steam locomotive. In fact, The Patiala State Monorail Trainways was brought to the rail museum 30 years ago.

And the administration started its restoration after a visit by railway board chairman Ashwani Lohani to the museum.
