Mela Phulkari is back to Delhi with its fifth edition and you MUST visit it to get a sense of all things Punjabi!

It is an exhibition celebrating the creative reach of The Handicraft of Punjab It is a movement that works to unify the art, craft, and culture of Punjab in its true essence!

It’s also an organic extension 1469, a conceptual brand that showcases Punjab through its eclectic range of products that reflect Punjab and Punjabiyat in every piece.

Centered around the symbology of five: Panj Pyaras Curated by Dr. Alka Pande and organized by Delhi based Phulkari Revivalists Harinder Singh and Kirandeep Kaur the exhibition shall feature filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Australian and French High Commissioner, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, singer Rabbi Shergill, legendary folk singer Gurmeet Bawa, Lachi and Glory, artist Arpana Caur, and many more.

As the name suggests, the ‘Mela Phulkari’ is aimed at the revival of this art and bringing in a fresh whiff of all the popular things from Punjab.
It’s a platform where you can find colourful pankhis (hand fans), madanis (butter churner), tilla jutis (footwear), manja (village cots), parandis (the festive hair accessory), and rich textiles and embroideries. Moreover, visitors will be greeted by traditional musical instruments like sarangi, nagada, dilruba and dhad as well.
