One of the things that we love about Delhi University is the number of college societies it has to offer! In fact, these include a number of dance, theatre, music societies among others. So, we thought why not help you bookmark some of our fave societies across colleges!
1. Abhivyakti – Indraprastha College for Women

Abhivyakti is the drama society of IPCW and, by far, it’s one of the best that you can enrol in. Also, they’re known to proactively ideate plays that have a social message attached to it!
2. Nazaakat – Gargi College

One of the best folk dance societies in Delhi, leave alone Delhi University – these guys take their craft really seriously. In fact, they’re best known for their intricate choreography, vibrant costumes and deadly expressions.
3. The Players – Kirori Mal College

52 years of enthralling and captivating fans with their plays – The Players somehow keeps getting better as the years roll by. Some of the biggest names in TV soaps emerged from The Players. Moreover, the group a strict sense of continued belief in – experiment and never settle for the conventional.
4. Ibtida – Hindu College

Ibtida is one of the hardest societies to get into. The theatre society of Hindu College hosts 3 days of the most rigorous audition processes conceptualised by a DU college. Moreover, these guys host an annual fest called Medina – one of the biggest hits in DU.

The REAL Next Top Model is born here every year. Glitz the fashion society of KNC can easily rival fashion statements of students from Pearl and NIFT. However, many publications have claimed that KNC’s fashion show is THE BEST on the college level.
6. Lakshya – Kamala Nehru College

As good as its sister society, Lakshya had taken up the mission to make theatre as integral a part of academics as any. In fact, they have one of the toughest and most detailed audition processes.
7. The Hans Raj Projekt

Possibly one of the most popular bands of Delhi University, The Hans Raj Projekt is part of music society of Hans Raj. Additionally, these guys are also known to make talented people overnight success stories. So, don’t miss out on it!
8. Geetanjali – Miranda House

An integral part of Miranda House’s music society – Geetanjali is the Indian music choir of the college. Which, by the way, is a beautiful blend of two different streams – Hindustan Music & Karnataka Music. And, of course, coming from a women-only college, their songs hint on empowering women a lot.
9. PIXELS – Hans Raj College

Now, this society is one everyone should take notice of! It was DU’s first photography society to ever host a photography exhibition, that too at Indian Habitat Centre. In fact, they also have their own annual event called Plickture that attracts budding photographers from across Delhi University!
10. Galore – Maitreyi College

Galore is one of the few societies in Delhi University that empowers and allows students to ideate, create and execute things that define them. Whether it’s social causes that might otherwise not get enough limelight or issues that are trending – these guys take inspiration from EVERYTHING.
